**WE ARE LOOKING FOR A R/D SCIENTIST FOR A MAJOR CHEMICAL COMPANY IN HOUSTON, TX**

Job Responsibilities

  • Execution - Understand and prioritize work requests
  • DSC, DMA,
  • VISCOMETERS
  • MDSS
  • New method development - Develop or identify practical, application relevant test methods
  • Planning - Contribute to the planning and implementation of growth platforms and projects
  • Customer focus - Work with internal customers to translate testing needs into laboratory experimental plans
  • Reporting - Independently report technical results and conclusions
  • Teamwork - Work alongside experienced researchers and guide entire site on mechanical and physical testing of materials and parts

Competencies

  • Ability to apply scientific method, six-sigma tools or statistics to problem solving
  • Sound knowledge of documentation in Microsoft Excel, Word or other software programs
  • Exhibits the ability to multitask when needed
  • Ability to understand customer needs and translate them into actionable lab activities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Epoxy Waterborne Dispersions
    • Epoxy is icing on the cake
  • 1+ yrs experience with waterborne dispersions
  • 5+ years with Bachelors
  • Experience with chemicals/chemical company in lab
