Safety Assessment Specialist
Temporary Job Description

Responsibilities and Duties

This is a full time temporary position to help in the accurate processing and maintenance (electronic and paper) of information used to conduct product safety assessments. The Safety Assessment Specialist will work closely with the Toxicologists.

The areas of responsibility for Safety Assessments will include:
• Product Safety Database Population and Maintenance
o Extraction of Formulas and Formula components from PLM/SAP
o Input formulas into an Access database
o Input/ Population of tested study formulas
o Input study test results
o QC of data
• Product Safety Summary Preparation
o Preparation and formatting of finished product formula and test sample formulas used for comparison in support of the finished product
o Identification of suitable safety studies to use for individual ingredient safety support
o Preparation of Product Safety Summary documentation for Safety Council Review
• Product Safety Summary Documentation Management
o Hard copy filing and management
o E-Copy filing and management
• Formula Ingredient Safety Review Report Generation
• Safety Study Database Population and File Management

Educational and Skill Requirements

BS degree in the Sciences - Chemistry, Biology, Etc
Expertise with Access databases. Proficiency in Excel, and Word computer programs.
Attention to detail and accuracy critical skill
Organized and conscientious
