Apex Life Sciences currently has an immediate opening for a *1st shift* Test Engineer to work with one of our long-standing clients in the medical device industry! This is a great opportunity to get some additional experience in the medical device field!

Position Details:

Job Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for developing and executing V&V test plans and compiling results in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures. 
  • Work with cross-functional team to develop hazard and risk analysis and associated testing. 
  • Participates in design reviews to ensure high standards are met. 
  • Participates in root cause analysis for defects and provides process improvement suggestions to eliminate future occurrences of similar defects. 
  • Performs duties in compliance with environmental, health and safety related site rules, policies or governmental regulations. 
  • All other duties as assigned. 

Basic Qualifications:

EDUCATION REQUIRED: 

  • Bachelors or Masters in Computer Science, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or similar related field 

YEARS OF EXPERIENCE: 

  • Less than 1 year of experience in Verification and Validation of complex software and hardware systems 
  • Less than 1 year of experience in Verification and Validation under Medical Device Regulations 

SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED: 

  • General knowledge of a programming language (C++ or C# preferred) 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience in Verification and Validation of complex software and hardware systems 
  • 1+ years of experience in Verification and Validation under Medical Device Regulations 
  • Experience with medical X-ray imaging and medical navigation systems 
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills 
  • Ability to analyze technical requirements and develop well-structured architectures 
  • Trained in proper code crafting and design (i.e. Object-oriented design) 
  • Self-motivated and can work both individually and lead team projects 
  • Self-starter with a strong desire to learn new concepts and ability to adapt quickly 
  • Ability to express ideas clearly in both written and oral communications
