Project Planning Analyst

JOB OVERVIEW
Position is responsible for leading a group of automotive supplier in providing powertrain components in the requested quantity at the requested time. This position is within the Global Supplier Management and Process Technology department, and will report to the responsible Supplier Management Team Leader.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Review and analyze component requirements to support production (multiple locations) and service demand.
Proactively identifies supplier backlogs. Partners with suppliers to develop backlog recovery plans and monitor effectiveness.
Validates the accuracy of requirements and assures that suppliers meet delivery expectations.
Ability to contacts suppliers for delivery promises, and can arrange transportation expedites if needed.
Ability to monitor and analyze delivery and inventory system parameters to ensure the optimal level of parts are available to meet production requirements.
Addresses receiving issues identified in shift reports.
Ability to closely monitor supplier shipping performance to ensure not too many, or too few parts are shipped by the supplier.
Support problem resolution for issues experienced in receiving inbound material.
Ability to monitor target inventory levels, and develop action plans to bring inventory to the target level when necessary.
Advises management of any critical component shortages and communicates delivery promises.
Ability to obtain and document supplier promises for delivery.
Ability to partner with Supplier Quality Engineer team members to ensure sufficient capacity is available for the desired quantity of components.
Obtains and documents build out quantities and part availability to support engineering change points into production.
Interacts with international co-workers with respect to supplier delivery.


Additional Functions/Duties
• Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills are required.
• Demonstrated analytical and problem solving ability is preferred.
• Familiar with ERP or MRP systems (SAP in example).
• Familiar with a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to travel and work irregular hours.

Required Background Experience and Skills:
• Experience with process improvement activities within supply chain.
• Analytical and strategic ability.
• Database and ERP reporting skills, able to enter and extract data, create reports. (SAP Preferred)
• Experience optimizing existing supply chain processes and identifying inefficiencies.
• Knowledge of industry practices and standards. 
• Proficiency in MS Office.
• Bachelors’ degree required. (Supply Chain or Engineering)
• 2-4 years experience. (Experience can be in Supply Chain Management or Engineering (Manufacturing, Materials, Industrial, ect)
