Job Description:

Apex Life Sciences is looking for a Technical Operations Engineer for our Aerospace Client in Centennial, CO. The following position will support the propulsion & packaging stress analysis team. This is a one year contract with the potential to be extended or hired on.  

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Candidate needs to be an experienced, stress analyst familiar with analyses of a wide range of hardware including tubing, large diameter ducting with flexible joint (bellows and gimbal joints), sheet metal and machined brackets, pressure vessels and isogrid/orthogrid panels.
  • Can independently work through analysis projects and various tasks with minimal direction
  • Ability & desire to work in a collaborative environment
  • The candidate must be proficient in using FEMAP, NASTRAN, NX, Matlab, MS Office Suite and also be able to run quick hand calculations to provide initial feasibility assessments for candidate designs.
  • Past experience with launch vehicle or similar aerospace hardware development is also preferred
  • Strong technical communication abilities (both written and verbal) is a must
  • Demonstrated ability & experience working in a fast-paced aerospace development environment
  • Proven experience as a technical lead

Additional requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in spaceraft or aircraft stress analysis
  • 3+ years of proficiency in analytical tools
  • Preferred hardware = secondary vehicle support structures, fluids tubing/ducting, isogrid/orthogrid panels
  • 2+ years of leading small to medium sized project
  • B.S. in engineering or science is required
  • Overtime is approved and may be required (15-20%)
  • Travel may be required to support hardware testing but is negotiable
