Job Description


Plastics Process Engineer

Hours: Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. or 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. 
Overtime not to be expected but prior manager approval required. 


Day to Day Responsibilities: 

• Support the design and development of new product / processes or improvements to existing processes 

• Solve problems and improve processes based on and structured problem solving methods such as Designed Experimentation. 

• Support the implementation of Process Control and Process Discipline systems into development line operations 

• Analyze process data using statistical tools (e.g. pareto, regression, time charting, analysis of variance, gauge R&R, etc.). 

• Measure and communicate performance against established objectives. 

• Review and interpret data to make recommendations on immediate actions, long term corrective actions, follow-up experiments, etc. 

• Document processes and train operators and peers on defined processes 

• Conduct laboratory experiments—including the operation of process equipment and analysis of results 

• Conduct full scale experiments by working with plant operators of manufacturing equipment 

• Installation and startup of development or production equipment 

Qualifications 
Required Education (minimum required for consideration) : 
Minimum of Associates degree in technical area (plastics, process, chemical, materials, or mechanical engineering) (BS preferred) 

Required Years and Area of Experience (minimum required for consideration): 
0-3 years’ experience in engineering/manufacturing/laboratory setting and a track record of successfully solving problems and achieving results
