Job Description


A well-regarded company focusing on patient therapies is seeking a Sr. Research Associate to join their team. This is a great opportunity to work for an industry leader!

RESPONSIBILITIES (INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO):

  • Work with a cross-functional team to execute and document analytical methods in support of process development, product release and stability, and product characterization of products
  • Execute routine testing of immunoassays from established test methods and SOPs 
  • Cell culture media preparation for multiple mammalian cell lines
  • Manage up to 5 different mammalian cell lines in culture at any given time, including documentation of critical factors such as growth kinetics
  • Cell line expansion and cryopreservation of master, working and single use cell banks with characterization of key surface marker by flow cytometry
  • Other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in biology or related field required (or relevant experience) with 2+ years of experience in similar role in a laboratory, preferably within the industry
  • Experience with plate-based immunoassays including ELISA
  • Experience with mammalian cell culture including suspension and adherent cell lines
  • Experience with Good Documentation Practices
  • Experience with flow cytometry a plus
  • Experience with gene and cellular therapy products a plus
  • Ability to follow laboratory procedures with attention to detail and successfully execute experiments at the bench
  • Ability to think critically and demonstrate troubleshooting and problem solving skills
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and willing to accept temporary responsibilities outside of initial job description
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced small company environment with minimal direction and able to adjust workload based upon changing priorities
  • Excellent skills in Microsoft Office, data analysis software and other applications
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • While most of the schedule will be during a standard work-week, there will be occasional weekend work required
  • Ability to lift over 30 lbs
