Job Description


The Research Associate / Sr. Research Associate will be a highly motivated individual who will actively design, and conduct analytical activities to advance clinical stage novel anti-infective compounds through development. The candidate will be expected to independently execute and document laboratory experiments, prepare summaries / technical reports, and communicate findings to the CMC team. The candidate will report to a Sr. Scientist / Scientist, Formulation Analytics.

Essential Functions:

  • Perform method development, validation, and transfers of analytical methods. May conduct experiments internally and/or working with contract laboratories.
  • Critical review of contract laboratory data, protocols, reports, and investigations, including drug substance and drug product stability studies.
  • Document experimental plans and results in laboratory notebooks, protocols, and reports (as appropriate)
  • Document rationale for proposed experiments, summarize study results and key takeaways, and provide recommendations for next steps.
  • Participate in cross-functional team meetings, as needed, and communicate findings to peers and the CMC project team.
  • Contribute to project timeline development and maintenance by provide updates on the progress of development activities.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • M.S. or B.S. in Chemistry, Biochemistry or related discipline with 1-5 years of experience
  • Experience in analytical characterization as well as methods development & validation for solid oral dosage forms.
  • Hands on experience using analytical techniques including, e.g. HPLC, Dissolution, PSD, Viscosity.
  • Ability to plan and execute stability testing protocols 
  • Ability to author method development / method validation reports & protocols.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and quality standards in the US and EU including cGMP and GLP guidelines is a plus.
  • Ability to independently identify and solve problems to advance projects through the development process and under aggressive timelines.
  • Strong analytical, organizational and communication skills.
