Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY: Technician to support manufacturing processes in a medical device environment

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Perform installation, set up, maintenance and calibration functions on manufacturing equipment to minimize impact on production flow
  • Apply diagnostic skills to efficiently and effectively troubleshoot and resolve electro-mechanical problems in assembly
  • Effectively train production personnel on fabrication/assembly procedures
  • Perform failure analysis on returned product
  • Identify opportunities to improve manufacturing fixtures, equipment and process instructions
  • Provide timely feedback on new products in order to promote design for manufacturability
  • Perform tooling validations per protocol
  • Take ownership of assignments directed at improving operating efficiency and quality
  • Maintain a positive working relationship with co-workers and management
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities when required

Requirements and Experience:

  • Mandarin-speaking
  • Associates Degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 5+ years experience in a manufacturing or related environment
  • Strong electro-mechanical aptitude. Electro-mechanical fabrication (machine shop), soldering and assembly skills
  • Familiar with digital and analogue oscilloscopes
  • Commitment to excellence and high quality standards
  • Excellent fault finding and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to record and provide critical feedback of observations
  • Practical experience with Excel and Word
  • Discipline and adherence to document control
  • Aptitude to learn the electrical and pneumatic details of custom-designed equipment and complex processes
  • Personal attributes - high integrity, detail oriented, dependable, self-starter, ability to operate independently as well as part of a team, good communicator (both written and verbal skills)
  • Must be available to work on overtime as needed
  • Must be able to manage multiple projects independently and work with minimal supervision
  • Good manual dexterity, eyesight and the ability to work with a microscope
