Overview

We are seeking an innovative and experienced biochemist to investigate structure-function relationships and interactions among components of kinase signal transduction pathways.   The focus of the work will be the characterization of allosteric interactions between kinases and regulatory components of signal transduction pathways and the evaluation of how pharmacologic inhibition with small molecules impacts those interactions in the context of physiological and oncogenic signaling.   The laboratory has access to state-of-the art pharmacology, biochemistry, biophysical, molecular, and cellular tools and methodologies. The successful candidate will work within an experienced team of biochemists, molecular/cell biologists, chemists and structural biologists.

Skills 

  • Possess a PhD in biochemistry, molecular/cell biology or related discipline with at least 2 years of biochemical and molecular/cell biology experience
  • A broad knowledge base in evaluating structure/function relationships of proteins and characterizing protein/protein interactions using genetic, biochemical and pharmacological tools
  • Background in lipid biochemistry and prior work with kinases and signal transduction pathways is strongly preferred
  • Demonstrate a strong and consistent record of accomplishment, as evidenced by previous work and letters of reference
  • Be enthusiastic and self-driven and have the ability to work independently as well as cooperatively to advance projects

Education 

  • PhD in biochemistry, molecular/cell biology or related discipline with at least 2 years of biochemical and molecular/cell biology experience
  • Candidates with a MS will also be considered but only if they have 6+ years of biochemical and molecular/cell biology experience
  • Expertise in signaling pathways and kinase biology would be a great advantage
