Job Description




Apex Life Sciences is seeking a Scientist in the Ridgefield, CT area for a top pharmaceutical company!



Duties:

  • Routinely performs molecular biology experiments and prepares materials for the sequencing projects
  • Implement workflows to automatically upload sequencing outputs into our internal databases and develop methods to curate them with physicochemical attributes of relevance towards drug safety, pharmacology and manufacturability.
  • Interface with CROs to coordinate classical as well as next generation sequencing (NGS) efforts to obtain Immunoglobulin sequences.
  • Develop pipelines to analyze NGS outputs as per requirements
  • Work with multi-disciplinary groups of experimentalists, including those involved in protein expression, purification, biophysical characterization and drug development.
  • Proficiently execute assigned tasks in bioinformatics, curation and data analyses
  • Comply all applicable regulations, performing all work in a safe manner; maintain proper records in accordance with SOP’s and policies.
  • As assigned time to time by supervisor



Skills:

  • Good Molecular biology skills such DNA plasmid preparation, PCR and cloning.
  • Experience in sequence bioinformatics and functional genomics
  • Experience in computer programming
  • Familiarity with Unix/Linux and shell scripting
  • Ability to collaborate with experimentalists
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Independent thinking and high motivation level


Education:

  • BS with up to 2 years of experience or fresh MS degree in Molecular Biology/Bioinformatics/Computational biology with minor in computer science
  • Familiarity with routine molecular biology laboratory techniques
  • Familiarity with at least one modern computer programming language such as Python, Perl or C.
  • Familiarity with Linux/Unix and shell scripting
