Job Description


Apex Life Sciences seeks a full-time Research Scientist, to be part of the FluNXT Immunology team. The candidate will be dedicated to the development of immune assays and execution of preclinical evaluation of vaccine candidates and formulations.

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the development of immune assays and execution
  • Participate in design, manage and execute testing of vaccine formulations in animal models
  • Coordinate testing in-house and with third party vendors
  • Creation and review of SOPs and technical reports
  • Participate in the development of presentations of scientific data
  • Development, qualification, documentation, and transfer of immune assays.
  • Compile data and author reports summarizing experimental results.
  • Draft method development reports, SOPs, and transfer protocols.
  • Accountable for testing including: sample cataloging, submission or testing, analysis and collection of results.
  • Perform statistical analyses on compiled data as needed and present to project teams.
  • Operate and perform maintenance of lab instrumentation.
  • Write and maintain accurate, complete, and timely data in laboratory notebooks.

Qualifications: 

  • PhD in a scientific discipline with a minimum of 2 years of experience (industry or postdoctoral experience), or a MS with a minimum of 4 years industry experience.
  • Knowledge and skills in Immunology and/or Virology.
  • Highly motivated individuals with excellent training in immunological assays and experience with small animal models.
  • Training and experience in assay development.
  • Well organized and have the ability in preparing technical reports, summaries, protocols and presentations.
  • Innovative, creative and ability to prioritize in experimental design, data interpretation and presentation.
  • Verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to interact cooperatively and effectively with others in a team environment, and consistently demonstrate reliability and responsibility.
