Key Responsibilities: 

  • Scientific Communications Associate will perform a range of administrative, systems updates, and editorial tasks necessary to facilitate scientific publications (ie. abstracts, posters, presentations, manuscripts) development and submissions. 

Essential Duties and Function: 

  • The Scientific Communications resource will be responsible for the following key activities and deliverables:
    • Drive development of a proactive forward looking Global Publication and Conference Plan for the programs in the Inflammation/Respiratory Therapeutic Area 
    • Oversee the tactic execution management with external vendors, and communicate progress internally 
    • Schedule and facilitate Publication Team Meetings with cross functional representation from Clinical, Non-Clinical functions, Biostatistician, Medical Affairs, and Commercial 
    • Serve as a point of contact for external Collaborators on Clinical programs to obtain and track their publication plans, and ensure the internal review in PDN 
    • Prepare and communicate timelines for drafting, reviewing of materials, and submissions of conference materials (ie. abstracts, oral presentations, posters) to the cross-functional Publications Team and external collaborators 
    • Oversee medical writing agencies to ensure quality deliverables,  publication guidelines are followed, and ensure GPP3 compliance 
    • Prepare and circulate the Conference Submissions and Dispositions Reports 
    • Collaborate and update the Clinical Leads, Project Management Lead and Project Managers to ensure alignment on publication activities 
    • Perform minor medical writing and copy editing of abstracts, oral presentations, posters, and peer reviewed papers to ensure formatting and consistency 
    • Submit and track completion of publication reviews in PDN 
    • Update and track activities in the publication management tool (Datavision) with publication activities 

Knowledge, Experience, Skills: 

  • A good standard of written and verbal English 
  • A high level of accuracy and detail oriented 
  • Strong collaborations and team work oriented 
  • Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines 


  • Preferably a Bachelor's degree or higher in a scientific degree and/or extensive work experience in a biotech/pharmaceutical drug development capacity
