Apex Life Sciences is seeking an eager Chemist to join an innovating personal care company!


  • Make contributions and support various innovation efforts within the company to deliver beauty product solutions aimed to enhance current and new client product launches.
  • The R&I Chemist is passionate about all types of beauty products (skin, color, and hair), familiar with emerging and legacy beauty brands influencing current trends, and self-motivated to develop new products in a team environment. 


  • Develop and formulate beauty products with innovative technologies within the Innovation Lab team.
  • Support co-development projects within the company network, including internal and external customers.
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions, collaboration efforts, and co-development projects to identify and develop new product concepts and enhancements to existing product technologies.
  • Research within existing and new raw material supply chain relationships for innovative ingredient and material technologies to enhance the technology offerings within the company.
  • Prepare research studies with scientific data and results to drive the development of new product platforms.
  • Collaborate closely with the Innovation Team to create products that are on trend and achieve the specified objectives defined by product development and/or marketing groups.
  • Prepare product innovation dossiers and samples for distribution throughout the company sites.
  • Maintain a current awareness and knowledge of beauty trends in the market and contribute to the sharing of these trends with the Innovation Team.
  • Perform lab stability and other relevant product testing on new product development projects and compile product data for technical dossiers.
  • Perform duties and assignments as instructed by Innovation Team leadership team to support innovation efforts.
  • Obtain and utilize a working knowledge of the manufacturing capabilities across the company network.
  • Maintain good housekeeping in conformance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) standards as per FDA and site requirements.


  • Bachelors of Science Degree, preferably in Chemistry and/or Biochemistry.
  • 1+ years of experience formulating beauty or personal care products.
  • Proficient computer skills within MS Office and ability to learn and work within the PLM system
  • Must be able to work independently and proactively on projects in a team environment.
  • Must be passionate about the beauty industry.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule. Some off-site activities will be requested during regular business hours.
  • Must be able to maintain a clean and orderly work area.
