This privately-held company is dedicated to discovering and developing novel therapies for treatment-resistant cancers. While recent advances with targeted therapeutics have extended prognoses in many disease settings, cancers often develop resistance to current drugs. Relapsed patients lack further treatment options. We have assembled a world-class scientific team dedicated to the discovery of therapies that can meaningfully improve clinical outcomes for these patients.

Position Description:

Qualified candidate will join a team focused on developing and executing cell-based assays for small molecule lead identification and for testing mechanisms of action. In this position you will support drug discovery efforts by providing biology expertise and services including but not limited to the following:

  • Execute biological assays (biochemical and cell-based)
  • Prepare standard techniques such as growth assays, apoptosis assays, RNA extraction, Maxi preps, qPCRs, shRNA and RNAi techniques, western blots
  • Perform data analysis, reporting and integration with GraphPad Prism, Microsoft Office and other computer programs

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor or Master’s degree in biology, cell biology, molecular biology or biochemistry is required
  • 1 – 8 years experience with tissue culture and cell-based assays.  Priority will be given to candidates with relevant industry experience
  • Experience with vector design and construction, conditional gene expression in mammalian systems, culture of primary cells, qPCR and western blots, immunofluoresence, and some in vivo work is desired
  • Proficiency in cell-based assays
  • Excellent computer skills with experience with data analysis
  • Previous experience in compound preparation/serial dilution and lab automation desired
  • Capable of fully understanding scope of projects and able to troubleshoot and identify solutions to arising issues
  • Must be detail oriented, well organized and have strong communication skills
  • Excellent teamwork skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary environment
  • Strong work ethic, self-motivated, driven, dependable, hard working
