Job Description

A well-regarded company focusing on patient therapies is seeking a Research Associate, Bioassay to join their team. This is a great opportunity to work for an industry leader!


  • Work with a cross-functional team to design, execute and document analytical method development in support of lead candidate selection, process development, product release and stability, and product characterization of autologous T cell therapies
  • Assist in the development of standard operating procedures, analytical test methods, and new analytical technologies involving cell-based potency assays and flow cytometry
  • Execute routine testing for Analytical Services from established test methods and SOPs
  • Execute method qualification and participate in transferring cell-based potency assays and flow cytometry methods to Quality Control
  • Write, review, and edit accurate technical documents
  • Other duties as assigned


  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in biotechnology or related field required (or relevant experience) with 2+ years of experience in similar role in a laboratory, preferably at least 1 year of lab experience within the industry
  • Experience with mammalian cell culture including primary T cells and cell-based assays
  • Experience with flow cytometry, magnetic bead cell sorting, and plate-based immunoassays (e.g. ELISA, luminescence)
  • Experience with gene and cellular therapy T cell products a plus
  • Experience with Good Documentation Practices
  • Ability to follow laboratory procedures with attention to detail and successfully execute experiments at the bench
  • Ability to think critically and demonstrate troubleshooting and problem solving skills
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and willing to accept temporary responsibilities outside of initial job description
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced small company environment with minimal direction and able to adjust workload based upon changing priorities
  • Excellent skills in Microsoft Office, data analysis software and other applications
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • While most of the schedule will be during a standard work-week, there will be occasional weekend work required
  • Ability to lift over 30 lbs
