Entry Level R&D Technician

Minneapolis, MN

Responsibility - The Food Technician/Technologist acts as a key member of the R&D team, working at the Company's Technology Centers. Our Technicians work in a variety of potential areas, from new product development, established product improvement, new technology and cost savings. Working in partnership with food scientists or engineers focused on new product development, this technician will be responsible for:

  • Creating prototype samples to support new product development.
  • Executing bench top test plans and pilot plant experimentation.
  • Supporting consumer tests
  • Managing analytical, shelf-life and sensory evaluations.
  • Analyzing experimental data and extracting learning
  • Interacting with suppliers and external partners.
  • Connecting and collaborating within cross functional teams.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or two-year technical degree
  • Entry Level: 1-3 yrs experience.
  • Basic understanding of food science principles and the experimentation process.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Results Oriented
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Demonstrate leadership and initiative
  • Demonstrate skill in organization and documentation
  • Must be flexible and adaptable to take on a wide range of assignments
  • Proficient in basic Computer skills-Excel, MS Word and general computer application software.
  • Excellent interpersonal and team communication skills
  • Can work independently as well as collaboratively with others on projects
  • Enjoys cross-functional collaborations including our global partners
  • Good Written and communication skills.
