Inspector III Request: Technician - Quality Technician III

Job Description: Job Purpose
The Incoming Quality Assurance (IQA) Inspector will be responsible Incoming and/or, In-process and/or, Final and/or, Documentation inspection, and Quality Control inspection & test activities to ensure that all required materials, components, assemblies, and documentation intended for BSC Bay Area salable product comply with applicable specifications and regulations. The IQA Inspector receives limited supervision and instructions for routine work and detailed instructions for new activities or special assignments and maintain accurate records and reports.

Key Responsibilities:
Incoming Quality Assurance (IQA) Inspector duties include, but are not limited to:

• Perform functional quality test on in-coming, in-process and finished goods accurately, in a timely and efficient manner.

• Perform visual and dimensional measurements of complex purchased components using microscopes, micrometers, dial calipers, snap gages, optical comparator, CMM, and other precision measurement equipment.

• Make acceptance or rejection decisions based on established procedures.

• Completes special inspection requests for engineering.

• Assist in qualification of equipment needed for production and research purposes.

• Interacts daily with functional peer groups involving the exchange of priorities, schedules, and other factual information.

• Recommends changes to specifications, procedures, and policies as necessary, and initiate Change Notices (CNs) as needed to implement changes.

• Actively participates in the monitoring, review and disposition of discrepancies.

• Data collection, analysis and creation of presentation of material for metric reporting and trending.

• Performs trend analysis of quality, inspection effectiveness, and provides detailed recommendations for improvements and actively participates in the corrective action process.

• Develops effective methods for reducing cost while increasing productivity.

• Receives assignments in the form of measurable Goals & Objectives.

• Additional duties and responsibilities may be assigned as required.


• Supports Quality Assurance efforts on projects as necessary.

• Other special projects and assignments as required.

Quality Systems Duties and Responsibilities:
Build Quality into all aspects of their work by maintaining compliance to all quality requirements.


AA Degree or equivalent work experience in related discipline and 3 years of related experience.

Additional Job Specific Requirements:


• Comprehensive knowledge of quality system standards and regulations (e.g., FDA QSR, ISO 13485)

• Ability to read and interpret drawings and design specifications

• Ability to work both independently and in partnership with others

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• Able to be proactive and self-motivated

• Able to interact and communicate with all levels of BSC staff
