Job Description

The QA Supervisor will report directly to the Head of Operations and will be responsible for daily Quality activities. In this role, the individual will supervise the quality responsibilities including daily interactions with production, quality control, and R&D. QA Supervisor is to perform job responsibilities independently, with efficiency and detail. Responsible for electronic and paper files.


  • Supervise departmental operations for Quality Assurance.
  • Develop, review and improve the company’s quality systems as they relate to Quality Assurance to ensure compliance with all federal regulations for the dietary supplement industry.
  • Assist other departments in the development of their quality related processes, SOP’s and documentation to ensure compliance with all federal regulations for the dietary supplement industry.
  • Support senior management in liaison responsibilities with the regulatory agencies, which visit, inspect, or audit.
  • Initiate QA/QC system enhancement/upgrades and participate in their development, coordination, testing and implementation.
  • Review department SOPs and revise when applicable • Implement department goals
  • Review batch records and release product from quarantine
  • Review and approve certificate of analysis
  • Update and maintain all logbooks issued by quality
  • Manage and maintain the CAPA system
  • Manage and maintain the Deviations system
  • Issue batch records and line clearance to production
  • External quality audits of suppliers, supplier management


  • Ensure proper customer complaint tracking and reporting
  • Ensure proper Non-Conformance tracking and reporting
  • Ensure proper tracking and reporting of quarantined materials
  • Ensure proper tracking and reporting of change control documentation
  • Submit internal audit reports


  • Bachelors Degree scientific field
  • 5 – 7 years in a manufacturing environment
  • 3 years’ experience supervising a Quality Assurance and Quality Control Group
  • Prior experience in nutritional supplement preferred.
  • Knowledge of cGMP for the food and dietary supplement industries
  • Knowledge of 21 CFR Part 111
  • Strong written and verbal skills
  • Must be able to work in fast paced environment with demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize multiple, competing tasks and demands.
  • Possess the ability to identify problems, trends; develop solutions and implement a course of action • Experience in statistical process control and process improvement
  • Possess strong project management skills
  • Ability to assimilate information quickly
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Must be an effective team player
