The Quality Engineer in conjunction with the Business Quality Manager will take responsibility for the development, implementation, measurement, maintenance and performance– primarily in their refinery unit.  

This position requires good leadership skills as well as a solid understanding of the quality systems and manufacturing operations.

The Quality Engineer will interface with production plants, analytical laboratories, R&D, Process Technology, Sales, Marketing, Supply chain, Technical Service and Customer Service functions 

Major responsibilities include:

  • Establish and implement performance metrics (process capability, first pass quality, etc) for monitoring and measuring performance of manufacturing processes.
  • Drives continuous improvement utilizing Six Sigma techniques. 
  • Support the internal quality audit program to ensure compliance with quality system objectives. 
  • Ensures Corrective and Preventive Action System is effectively implemented and maintained.
  • Provide Quality leadership to the production plants while interfacing with customers, suppliers and other internal functions.
  • Lead and implement a portfolio of quality process and/or analytical improvement projects that help provide a platform of competitiveness.
  • Support the raw material and supplier quality process to help drive quality and reliability improvements.


  • 4 year B.S. degree in Engineering or Science
  • 2-5 years of industry experience
  • Solid knowledge of continuous improvement and Lean Six Sigma methodologies (DMAIC, DFSS, Lean).  Certified Green Belt preferred.
  • Knowledge of Quality Management System and Product Regulatory requirements for the plant (ISO 9001:2015, Internal Auditing)
