Apex Life Sciences is looking for a Quality Control Laboratory Clerk!

Job Summary

                This incumbent performs routine lab activities including receiving samples, logging samples in QC sample logbook, storing samples at correct temperature, and shipping samples to contract testing laboratories when needed.  Order laboratory supplies and maintain required inventory according to standard operating procedures (SOPs).  In addition, incumbent may also perform laboratory and equipment cleaning and preventive maintenance and calibration.  Incumbent must perform duties by exactly following written procedures and document work performed including equipment and material used if any.  Must complete work assignments in a timely and accurate manner.  Must follow directions from the supervisor.  This position does not include performing QC assays.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities    

  • Receiving, logging in and storage of samples in the QC laboratory, including coordinating with other departments for sample-related issues. -40%
  • Preparing shipping paperwork and shipping samples to contract testing laboratories in coordination with Facilities department.-30%
  • Order laboratory supplies and maintain required inventory according to standard operating procedure. -10%
  • Perform laboratory and equipment cleaning and preventive maintenance and calibration.-10%
  • Attending QC and All-Hands meetings for communication and scheduling within QC department and company- 5%
  • Writing deviation reports in case of deviations from SOPs. – 5%

Education And/Or Experience

  • A high school diploma and a minimum of two years of work experience.  Appropriate vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for required experience or exempt by Manager approval. 
  • Preferred Experience: A minimum of one year work experience in a cGMP compliant QC laboratory.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
