Summary of Quality Assurance Specialist

  • Develop work instructions and standard operating procedures.
  • Knowledge to implement food safety and regulatory programs.
  • Strict compliance with cGMP, Current Good Manufacturing Practices and have a working experience with a HACCP in a HACCP controlled facility.
  • Produce goods that meet customer requirements.
  • Inspect production area, production processes, and finished goods produced.
  • Clearance of area prior to beginning production.
  • Monitor cleanliness of production areas and if unacceptable, report to direct supervisor.
  • Prior to beginning production, monitor the proper sanitation of all production equipment. If the applicant has experience with Pre-op sanitation inspection in a USDA facility, it would be preferred.
  • Monitor for presence of product identification and sanitation cards on equipment.
  • Proper review of BOM prior to beginning production.
  • Regular measurement of fill weights, closure torque, and label placement.
  • Record, correct, and retest out of specification results.
  • Monitor proper record keeping in sanitation log books and fill records.
  • CAPA prioritization and follow ups
  • Prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously and complete tasks in a timely manner.
  • Other duties or responsibilities may be required.

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s Degree Required
  • Minimum 2-3 years of QA/QC Supervisor experience.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Two years of experience in regulated industry (Cosmetics, dietary supplements, OTCs, FDA and USDA etc.) 21 CFR 110, 111.
  • Experience with HACCP and SQF programs preferred
  • Experience to work with co-manufacturing facilities.
