QC Technician

Immediate need in a newly renovated local lab! 

Technician would primarily be responsible for:

  • Sampling, compositing, and preparing finished product samples for analyses (sample shelves)
  • Performing wet chemical techniques: EDTA titration, free fatty acid analysis
  • Performing sieve tests using the Air-Jet
  • Labeling finished products and raw materials for traceability and storage
  • Running routine TGA analyses (thermogravimetric analyzer) and halogen Mettler meter
  • Preparing samples for HPLC analysis
  • Running KF titrations and amine titrations

POSITION SUMMARY:

Performs all testing within the Quality Control Laboratory of Cincinnati

       

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITES:

 

*

Proficiently perform all routine quality control and chemical and physical analytical functions within the QC laboratory.

 

*

Function as integral components of the company’s quality management system.

             

QUALITY CRITICAL RESPONSIBILITIES

 

*

Perform testing and release of raw materials as required for manufacturing.

 

*

Prepare solutions for chemical analyses.

 

*

Keep chemical analysis records on data sheets and in notebooks.

 

*

Operate and help maintain high pressure liquid chromatography equipment (HPLC).

 

*

Prepare Certificate of Analysis for finished goods.

 

*

If assigned, perform SAP Quality Control transactions.

 

*

Order supplies as necessary.

 

*

Prepare, certify, and ship product samples for customers

       

KEY SKILLS REQUIRED:

 

*

Associates in chemistry or lab science or currently enrolled in a related degree program.

 

*

BA or BS degree in Chemistry preferred

 

*

A minimum of classroom or industrial chemical analytical experience.

 

*

Ability to quickly learn any necessary wet chemical analytical skills.

 

*

Ability to operate or quickly learn to operate HPLC and other analytical instrumentation.

 

*

Good organization and communication skills.

 

*

Working knowledge of computers, Microsoft software and ability to learn specialized technical software.

Schedule: Day Shift, 10 Hour Shifts, WED-SUN (off Monday/Tuesday), or THURS-SUN (off Monday-Wednesday). Weekends Required
