Job Description


Apex Life Sciences is looking for a part time QA Product Safety Assistant. The worksite will be with one of our dietary supplement clients in Longmont, CO. The right candidate will be responsible for reviewing and approving test reports and maintaining documents and records electronically and physically. In addition, this position also assists the QA Manager(s) with daily tasks and otherwise representing the QA Department within the scope of QA/QC operations as they relate to food, dietary supplements, pharmaceuticals, and adjacent FDA regulated products.


Main duties include:

  • Reviews reports pertaining to customers’ samples for approval and posting.
  • Reviews and approves reports based on subcontractors’ data.
  • Authors, reviews, approves, and uploads Certificates of Analysis (CofA’s).
  • Facilitates dissemination of controlled documents.
  • Ensures QC analytical results meet quality and timing expectations to support operations.
  • Assists QA Manager(s) in various other QA/QC related matters.


Required Competencies:

  • Solid understanding of algebra.
  • High attention to detail with ability to clearly document projects.
  • Effective technical writing and reading skills.
  • Solid communication skills both written and verbal in English.
  • Familiarity with laboratory setting and basic laboratory apparatus.
  • Must be able to organize and work on multiple projects at the same time.
  • Must be able to collaborate with others and be a team player.
  • Must possess integrity and is trustworthy.


Training, Education and Experience:

  • 1+ years of experience in Quality Assurance in food and/or dietary supplements; or a relevant degree.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel and other relevant software needed to manage QA activities.


Desired Skills/Knowledge:

  • Familiarity with cGMP and FDA guidelines, especially 21 CFR 111 and 21 CFR 117.


Working Conditions:

  • Must be able to perform routine tasks repeatedly, efficiently, and accurately in a timely manner, occasionally lifting up to 30 lbs.
  • Must be capable of understanding, listening and following verbal and written instructions to accomplish desired goals and be able to communicate verbally and in writing at all levels of the organization.
  • Lab setting: potential exposure to carcinogens, corrosives and other chemicals.
