Job Description


Summary

The warehouse manager is responsible for all functions in the warehouse including, but not exclusive to:

1- Production and blending(manufacturing). 

            2-Shipping and receiving policies and procedures.

            3-Warehouse organization and maintenance.

            4-Quality and compliance policies along with training assistance.

Essential Duties

1-Production and Blending:

  • Schedules activities of compounder
    • Maintains control of lot tracking book and batch lot assignment.
    • Determines batch sizes based on specific customer needs or

regular stock needs.

  • Monitors compliance to established quality control policies

and procedures.

  • Alerts compounder to special requirements – Organic, Allergen, etc.
  • Schedules activities of production crew
    • Issuance of all relative work orders with quantity.

-Retrieval, review and filing of all work orders and related              packaging documents.

  • Issuance and review of all lot/unit/bag/box labels
    • Confirmation that ingredients match existing master file listing
    • Directions appear coherent and appropriate.
  • Oversees Quality Control processes
    • Batching documentation and filing system
    • Work order completion- notation of lots, quantities, dates and filing system
    • Monitoring of GMP’s in relation to production activities
      • Employee Practices
      • SSOP’s
      • HACCP rules and procedures

2-Shipping & Receiving:

  • Shipping
    • Review of daily shipping work load and personnel allocation.
      • Prioritization of order shipment and inventory needs.
      • Interfacing of finished goods needs with production activities.
      • Samples and other special needs shipments.
  •  Review of larger orders for best mode of transport, Truck vs. small package.
  • Schedules all truck and special customer shipments.
    • Coordinate with office personnel when necessary.
  • Maintenance of finished goods picking locations and back stock

storage to support shipping needs.

  • Monitors proper rotation of finished products.  Fifo methodology.
  • Assure all pick-ups going on to trucks with proper cleanliness.

  • Receiving

Review of incoming goods and necessary quality issues.

  • Raw Materials vs. other components
  • Sampling- Random and quantity
    • Raw Material vs. Component
  • Filing systems
  • Incoming vehicle inspection monitoring.
  • Allergen control for incoming materials.

3-Warehouse Organization

  • Assures that the inside of facility is kept clean and organized.
  • Assures product is stored in proper locations, i.e. allergen, packaging

Finished goods, etc.

  • Monitors proper rotation and placement of products, materials, components and other stored items.
  • Makes sure all warehouse activity is performed safely and securely.
  • Monitors maintenance and up-keep on facility equipment.

4-Quality and Compliance

  • Assures blending activity and paperwork are flowing per company established GMP’s. 
  • Assures packaging activity and paperwork is flowing per company established GMP’s. 
  • Assures shipping and receiving flow is happening per established company GMP’s.
  • Responsible for making sure all Employee practices are followed.
  • Responsible for numerous daily and periodic checks and logs:

-Daily Clean-up log

-Weekly Clean-up log

-Monthly Clean-up log

-Glass & Hard plastics inspection log

-Pest Control Inspection log

  • Assists in training, monitoring and reporting all pertinent aspects of company HACCP and other regulatory programs.

Required Skills

  • Excellent Basic Math Skills
  • Good computer skills, especially excel and word
  • Good organizational abilities.  Able to juggle many requests and plan for with proper efficiency.
  • Able to establish efficiency benchmarks and communicate to management in a reportable, regular fashion.
  • Good communication skills.
