Overview

As a Process Improvement Engineer, you will work with cross functional teams to ensure alignment between EHS, commercial, manufacturing, and R&D. 

You will report to the Technical Center Global Improvement Leader and you will be assigned to support the Butyllithium process unit. Your primary responsibilities will be to support the key designated business segment. If you're a Chemical Engineer with deep technical experience and enjoy supporting and managing projects in a chemical plant environment, this role will afford you the opportunity to manage future projects as part of our Lithium Operations team.



Responsibilities

This position will focus on longer range process improvement initiatives and provide technical support for: 

  • Process safety assessment and improvement initiatives
  • Development and documentation of process technology information
  • Development and execution of quality, yield, or capacity improvement initiatives
  • Analysis of Asset Utilization data for capacity improvement opportunities
  • Capital project support
  • Plant / process start-ups
  • Product scale-ups or transfers
  • Chronic production issues and process problems


Required Education

BS in Chemical Engineering; Master level qualification (or higher) a plus but not required



Qualifications

  • 3-5+ years’ experience in chemicals in an OSHA 1910.119 Process Safety Management environment
  • Strong safety orientation
  • Experienced professional with developing knowledge of the technical field and working knowledge of business processes, technologies and applications.
  • Can independently select, evaluate and apply techniques, processes and criteria to complete standard assignments

  • Competency at the customer interface level commensurate with starting level.
  • A demonstrated history of bringing projects in safely, on time and on budget.
  • The ability to effectively present at both informal and formal training settings
  • Ability to lead project teams
  • Data based and results driven with strong action orientation combined with practiced risk management abilities
  • Strategic agility with foresight and the ability to create alternate plans
  • International experience and bi-lingual capabilities a plus
