Job Description

This position is responsible for combining food science and culinary best practices into innovative food solutions for our branded customers. The ‘day to day’ responsibilities of this position are hands-on new product development and product optimization. This position also leads cross functional projects and other product technology personnel, as needed.


  • Develops new products and concepts for specific targeted customers, utilizing culinary and food science best practices.
  • Works closely with customers and manufacturing operations to compose new product formulations and optimal production processes in accordance with required customer product specifications.
  • Researches and incorporates new flavors, ingredients and processes into novel product ideas.
  • Manages product documentations from start to completion.
  • Applies FDA and USDA regulations to the development of product formulations and labels.
  • Evaluates new or improved processes or process aids, systems and technologies.
  • Works with outside suppliers and procurement on the identification and ordering of new ingredients as needed.
  • Maintains and further develops relationships with selected customers, as needed, mostly with their product development and contract manufacturing personnel.
  • Prepares products for customers and sales presentations, including attending presentations or sales calls, when necessary.
  • Responsible for Technical Services support of existing products.
  • Maintains working knowledge of Thermal Processing in order to optimize product quality while ensuring product safety.
  • Other duties as assigned.

B.S. degree in food science or culinary field required, M.S. or higher in Science field preferred. 4+ years industry experience preferred.
