Apex Life Sciences has an immediate permanent placement opportunity for a Process Engineer to meet all of the quality standards set forth by Our Client and bring their business methods in line with their financial goals. You will be accountable for all equipment maintenance operations and equipment sustainability. You must be comfortable working in a fast paced environment that is subject to long hours including evenings and on-call status.  

Functions:

  • Maintain plant infrastructure by responding to manufacturing calls to fix failed equipment.
  • Employ Lean methodology to identify opportunities and support capital expenditure justification.
  • Lead teams for Kaizen process and continuous improvements implementations.
  • Continuously reduce MTTR and MTBF
  • Coordinate the design, selection, and layout of manufacturing equipment, and control systems to ensure reliability and efficiency.
  • Reduce dependencies on manual labor and meet cost reduction goals by initiating design changes that improve process reliability on a continual basis.
  • Provide costs and estimates of labor, materials and contractors
  • Lay out reference points for workers and construct templates by interpreting specifications, blueprints, and job orders.
  • Interact directly with OEM resources to understand equipment function and designs.
  • Write process and operational SOP to standardize and improve effectiveness.
  • Design equipment configurations to meet personnel needs.
  • Engage all employees throughout the continuous improvement process.
  • Ensure all KPI’S are being reviewed and conveyed to operations team.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university.
  • 5+ years in supporting process engineering in biopharma.
  • Exquisite math and statistical analysis skills
  • Certified or trained in Lean methodology.
  • Experienced working with water purifiers, HVAC/Steam, Air Compressors, chilled water systems, reactors, mixers, centrifuges, etc.
  • FDA/GMP/HACCP knowledge preferred
  • Ability to communicate at all levels of hierarchy
