Job Scope & Purpose:

Our pharmaceutical client has amazing funding and a brand new location in Cambridge. Come join their team and help build innovative and exploratory process development cell therapy projects as their company looks to expand their process development team.  Our client needs you to come with proven group leadership and innovative platform scale-up for T-cell therapy to help build next-generation cell therapy programs. You will come with a track record of highly collaborative interactions with internal teams, academics, and CMOs in this role.  The end result – to lead a process development team with a mindset towards commercialization. Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Plan and perform T cell manufacturing processes through the design of experiment studies involving innovative and novel approaches to maximize production and work within a budget to optimize PD and manufacturing costs
  • Design and initiate assays to characterize genetically engineered primary T-cells to support product characterization
  • Immunology training and further abilities to devise in-vitro cellular assays involving flow cytometry, cytotoxicity, and downstream molecular characterization of T-cells
  • Stay informed of latest T-cell manufacturing approaches and apply novel approaches to in-house programs
  • Write protocols and operating procedures for technology transfer
  • Track record of external project interactions with CMOs for technology transfer and support
  • Analyze data and document scientific results for IND enabling studies
  • Build and manage a group including Scientist and Research Associates
  • Eagerness to participate on behalf of the organization at relevant scientific conferences
  • Organize and prioritize work to meet timelines and ability to execute on multiple projects

Primary Job Requirements:

  • Ph.D. in Immunology, Cell Biology or Bio-engineering or related discipline with at least 5+ years of relevant experience in Biotech or Pharmaceutical setting
  • Experience with process development for immunological CAR-T or T-Cell process development under GMP/cGMP manufacturing standards
  • Manufacturing scale-up or technical transfer experience with products including chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) and/or genetically engineered/modified T-cells
  • Proven track record of scientific accomplishments demonstrated by publications in high-impact journals
  • Ability to work under evolving company demands and to organize team activities for PD and manufacturing successful outcomes
