Seeking a qualified candidate with 4-8 years’ experience procurement and material planning in a manufacturing environment. Preferred experience includes purchasing policies/procedures, RFQ’s/RFP’s, Enterprise Resource Planning Systems (SAP), etc. This position requires strong attention to detail, proficient written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to succeed. Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or Supply Chain
  • Four years’ Experience in Supply Chain, Procurement or Business
  • Experience with purchasing policies and procedures
  • Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning Systems (SAP preferred)
  • Experience following standard business procedures, and general business knowledge/acumen
  • Experience with basic professional analytical techniques to develop solutions for problems

  • Experience in working in manufacturing environment with multi-functional teams
  • Experience with both buying and material planning.
  • Interpersonal and organizational skills, with the ability to navigate an ambiguous environment
  • Proactive, independent worker with the demonstrated capacity to work in team environment

  • Superior written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities:

  • Assists in development of subcontract specifications, work statements, and terms and conditions for the procurement of specialized materials, equipment, and services.
  • Prepares requests for quotes (RFQ) and proposals (RFP) packages, conducts bidders' conferences, analyzes and evaluates supplier proposals, negotiates subcontract provisions, selects subcontract source, creates subcontract documents, and administers resulting subcontracts.
  • Negotiates and coordinates additions, deletions, or modifications to subcontracts.
  • Participates with subcontract Compliance to develop purchasing policies and procedures.
  • Coordinates with engineering, quality and finance as necessary to mitigate supplier performance risk and resolve supplier issues.
  • Subcontract Administration is authorized to commit the company to a subcontract for products in support of launch vehicle production.
  • Performs the full range of standard problem solving typical of the discipline.
  • Develops solutions to a variety of complex problems requiring occasional interpretation of guidelines and modification of standard techniques to define and resolve unusual issues.
  • Contributes to the development of overall objectives and long-range goals of the organization.
  • Completes specific projects.
  • May represent their organization or department as a prime contact on projects.
  • Failure to achieve expected results would typically result in serious project delays and failure to achieve departmental objectives.
  • Participates in determining objectives of assignment.
  • Independently determines and develops approaches to problems.
  • Work is reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting objectives.
  • Receives guidance only on unusual or complex problems or issues.
