Operational Excellence Lead

In this role, you will be leading Lean Sigma projects for the business.

Daily Requirements

  • Master all technical skills associated with Six Sigma, Lean Sigma, and other appropriate improvement techniques.
  • Plan, support, and provide training to others in the Lean Sigma methodology.
  • Develop and share new tools and techniques to further the advancement of Lean Sigma at location.
  • Lead change and partner with those responsible for managing change within departments that will be affected.
  • Advocate and influence appropriate change and quality needs across Medtronic, including project opportunities and selection.
  • Lead and manage quality efforts to be felt by both employees and our customers.
  • Complete Lean Sigma DMAIC training and Black Belt training.
  • Mentor Lean Sigma projects across the company; identifying and working to remove barriers that slow or prevent the successful completion of a Lean Sigma project
  • Attend and participate in WorkSmart Review sessions

Education

  • BS degree in business, engineering, physical science, psychology, or technical discipline.
  • Proficient in the use of project management tools, and application of continuous process improvement methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma or equivalent

Job Experience

  • 3-5 years in a business or technical role, with 2-3 years of experience in coaching and mentoring.

Skills/Competencies

  • Proven leadership skills and business acumen; performance-driven
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to interface and influence at all organizational levels
  • Excellent understanding of data analytic and statistical tools, capable of explaining the underlying concepts and principles.
  • Excellent decision-making skills, taking into account all relevant and stakeholders.
  • Black Belt and Green Belt Certifications are a plus
