Job Description:

  • The main function of the lab technician-I is to prepare specimens for routine drug testing following the laboratory’s Standard Operating Procedures.
  • The position involves significant daily pipet work requiring hand dexterity and attention to detail. The incumbent will also interface with analytical instruments (LC/MS/MS and GC/MS.
  • The ability to work safely with instruments/equipment, solvents and biological samples is necessary.
  • Attention to detail and team work are key for successful performance in this role. A bachelor’s degree in the natural sciences is required, with preference for Chemistry majors.
  • Prior laboratory experience is not required but preferred; experience with LC/MS/MS and/or GC/MS is an added advantage.
  • LC/MS Transcription: Tetrahydrocannabinol (Marijuana), Designer stimulants conformation, Designer stimulants screen, Tramadol, Mitragynine, Dextromethorphan, Zolpidem, Cocaine
  • Extraction: Extraction of synthetic cannabinoids (premium) in urine, Designer drugs in oral fluid by screening method.
  • Solid phase and liquid-liquid extraction of urine and oral fluid samples for metabolite detection via LC/MS/MS and GC/MS
  • Preparation of standard calibration curve samples and quality control samples for oral fluid and urine sample analysis


B.S. or B.A. Required with 0-2 years of experience.
