Job Description


We are looking for a Microbiology Lab Technician to work in an established personal care company!

Summary:

  • Increase productivity and improve the quality of production by reducing batch contamination and down time and product loss in the operation process. 

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain master Environmental Monitoring Program schedule
  • Conduct swab samples within the plant environment using proper micro swab sampling techniques based on pre-determined schedule
  • Collate samples, record pertinent information in an electronic log
  • Prepare and ship samples to third party laboratory on a daily basis
  • Track, log and communicate results received from laboratory
  • Maintains clean and safe work environment by maintaining aseptic methods and protocols; following standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations. 
  • Prepares cultures by obtaining in-process and finished product samples. 
  • Documents and reports quality results by completing reports and logs; communicating results and required adjustments to manufacturing. 
  • Accomplishes quality and organization mission by completing related results as needed. 
  • Performing quality control and quality assurance procedures including, but not limited to routine equipment maintenance and calibration, and documentation of quality control and quality assurance activities as needed.
  • Ensuring that reagents, supplies and equipment are adequately maintained. 
  • Other Duties and responsibilities as assigned by management. 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors in Microbiology 
  • 2-4 years of experience in personal care products testing, preferably with some “natural” experience a plus
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work with internal clients 
  • Ability to work in a team environment, prioritize and multi task. 
  • Excellent organizational skills and strong computer experience. 
  • Ability to work with a minimum of supervision 
  • Must be detail oriented and willing to learn new procedures 
  • Able to work any shift, and overtime as required 
  • Basic computer skills. Prior experience working in Word, Excel, Outlook, etc
