Job Description

Apex Life Sciences is looking for a direct hire Microbiologist candidate for a leading and growing Nutraceutical company in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.  

Essential Functions

  1. Prepare and analyze Raw Materials and Finished Goods according to USP, AOAC, or In-house methodologies.
  2. Prepare and report results and lab notes for microbiological testing.
  3. Prepare media, reagents, and chemicals for microbiological testing.
  4. Test raw materials, in process, and finished productions according to most current and up-to-date specifications.
  5. Conduct stability testing on finished products, R&D samples and manually documents as well as creating lab notes.
  6. Assist lab supervisor with calibrations and verifications.
  7. Monitor & maintain microbiology lab inventory.

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.


  1. Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, biology, microbiology, nutrition or related field.
  2. A minimum of one year experience in field, laboratory, or production facility quality control strongly preferred.
  3. Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  4. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products required.
  5. Must possess strong organizational and communication skills.
  6. Detail-oriented, ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks with strict deadlines.
  7. Able to use logic and reasoning to identify solutions to problems.
  8. Takes initiative and seeks additional training or direction as needed.
  9. Must be willing to abide by  policies and procedures, including those that are safety-related.
  10. Self-motivated individual willing to work hard, able to work in a group and alone, and be quality conscious.
  11. Demonstrates a professional, team first attitude toward work and co-workers.
  12. Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a wide variety of tools and equipment.
  13. Must be proficient in reading, writing and speaking of English.
