Job Description

We are searching for an experienced Master Scheduler for a direct hire opportunity with a growing medical device company in the Thousand Oaks area!


  • Responsible for leading the demand forecasting function in process, technology, and discipline.
  • That will include Master Production Scheduling, Capacity Planning, Inventory Planning, coordinating with production scheduling, and participating in the Sales and Operations Planning Process.
  • This person will work closely with Sales/Marketing, Materials Management, and Manufacturing to ensure the development of a demand plan that meets shipment schedules and inventory objectives.


  • Interpret customer demand into a forecast using Syspro ERP
  • Identify, and resolve any demand/supply imbalances in both volume and product mix
  • Prioritize scheduling through constrained operations to ensure component material availability and
  • Develop and continually improve the methodologies, system, and analytics related to Master Scheduling
  • Collaborate with Operations leadership in long-term capacity planning and help prepare the organization for future demands
  • Work with Manufacturing in short-term capacity planning to ensure the forecast is attainable
  • Monitor material availability in support of the production schedule
  • Plan the supply from manufacturing and contract manufacturing to meet demand
  • Coordinate and plan materials requirements for new product introductions
  • Manage end of life product planning and associated inventory obsolescence
  • Ensure master schedules are interpreted, planned, and executed upon by Manufacturing.
  • Work closely with Manufacturing to resolve scheduling and production plan issues
  • Actively participate in the Sales and Operations Planning Cycle
  • Explore scenarios and simulations for different operating conditions
  • Collect data and maintain reports on performance metrics for the S & OP process
  • Document processes and policies as needed
  • Maintain and ensure Syspro data integrity
  • Evaluate, recommend, and drive changes in methods and procedures in assigned area of responsibility
  • Perform other duties as assigned


  • Minimum 5 years of experience Master Scheduling
  • BS in Business, Supply Chain, or similar
  • MBA preferred
  • CPIM or CIRM preferred
  • Must be hands-on and detail-oriented, good communication skills are essential.
  • Must have ability to multi-task and work in high pressure, fast-paced environment.
