Position: Manufacturing Technician IV

Shift: 1st shift, M-F (8-5)

Location: Spencer, IN

Summary:

Apex Life Sciences has a full time, contract opportunity for our client in the medical device industry. This role will work closely with Manufacturing Engineers to design fixtures, jigs, tooling, and equipment to address Lean Manufacturing related issues as well as quality and ergonomic issues.

Duties:

  • Work closely with Manufacturing Engineers to design fixtures, jigs, tooling, and equipment to address Lean Manufacturing related issues as well as quality and ergonomic issues. 
  • Product design analysis will also be utilized to help determine solutions to quality and performance related problems. Must literate in functional dimensioning and tolerance stack-up analysis. Once 3d solid model is complete individual will be responsible for detailing drawings in accordance to ANSI Y14.5. 
  • Provide day-to-day manufacturing support, evaluating/addressing production concerns/problems through troubleshooting design of components, tooling, fixtures and equipment. 
  • Implement productivity improvement projects resulting in improved manufacturing yields/efficiencies. Perform various test functions on devices/equipment and provide meaningful analysis/interpretation of data. 
  • Record and document all projects, tasks and results per lab notebook/Spencer SOP’s as well as QSR/ISO procedures. 
  • Must comply with requirements of ISO 14001 and Environmental, Health and Safety standards and follow procedures instructions related to these standards
  • Build Quality into all aspects of their work by maintaining compliance to all quality requirements.

Qualifications:

  • 6 years of relevant work experience with an AA degree or an equivalent combination of education/work experience.
  • Must have 5 years minimum design experience in SolidWorks or ProEngineer CAD software.
  • Must have experience writing and performing validations as well as implementation of CR’s through PDM.
  • 2 year technical degree preferred.
  • Experience in plastic part design and associated processing methods is a plus.
  • Experience with geometric tolerancing, metal stamping would also be desirable.
