Job Description


Our client, a industry pioneer with over 20 years of experience developing and manufacturing diagnostic products and reagents, is seeking a Manufacturing Associate.

Summary:

  • The Manufacturing Associate I will assist with all aspects of production, including the production of master mixes, controls and assay kits.
  • Manufactures products adhering to existing Quality System Regulations accompanied by appropriate documentation. 

Duties:

  • Manufactures assay kits, panels, and software CDs according to Quality procedures.
  • Participates in the Production of master mixes and ASR, reconstitution of oligonucleotides, controls, reference standards and general purpose reagents by following manufacturing batch records, work instructions, standard operating procedures, forms and validated excel spreadsheets.
  • Verifies all materials necessary are available for production; prepares tubes/boxes/labels and formulation/fill. 
  • Maintains appropriate inventory levels of raw materials and supply items used in production.
  • Ensures the production environment is maintained consistent with SOPs, operating practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintains general lab cleanliness, lab equipment, monitors temperature/pressure in specified areas or equipment and monitor levels of LN2 and CO2 on specified equipment.
  • Additional duties may include reagent testing and supportive administrative tasks (maintaining inventory, and other duties as necessary).   
  • Cooperates and respectfully communicates with external customers and internal customers.
  • Other duties, as assigned.

Education/Experience:

  • Requires knowledge and skills normally acquired through the successful completion of a BS Degree in a scientific discipline.
  • Experience in a GMP regulated industry or equivalent combination of education and experience is beneficial.
  • Knowledge of the Microsoft Office Software (Work, Outlook and Excel).
  • Direct working knowledge of a production environment including use of SOPs, batch records, ERP systems and purchasing specifications.
  • Ability to accurately recognize deviation from accepted practice is required.
  • Strong working knowledge of PCR and molecular biology.
  • Experience with sterile techniques and accurate pipetting skills.
  • Meticulous and detailed oriented.
  • Ability to accurately follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and changing priorities.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn and take on new challenges.
  • Proficient in the knowledge and use of Adobe Acrobat, Illustrator and Photoshop for artwork and graphics in documents. 

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to perform some tasks that are monotonous and physically demanding in lab and manufacturing environment.  Repetitive pipetting, labeling, and capping/uncapping tubes are required.
  • Occasional safe lifting of up to 45 pounds.
  • Some activities will take place at a desk and on a computer in an environmentally controlled environment, other activities are performed in a laboratory environment, standing and sitting.
