Apex Life Sciences is looking for a plant electrician! 

Proven electrical aptitude in a heavy industrial equipment environment. This person will work on, and require knowledge of, all types of equipment that include electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical. Must be a self-starter with the ability to investigate problems and develop solutions that will eliminate future issues. Will handle multiple task of minor and complex nature. This position will be required to work in a team environment as well as independently. Will be engaged on a full-time basis in the maintaining, repairing, and adjusting of all equipment in a highly skilled manner without the need for supervision. Some tasks require the ability to communicate orally, the ability to recognize visual perception and the ability to discriminate objects. Task may require exposure to temperature extremes, wetness/humidity, and electrical currents. Successful candidate will be required to wear a full face respirator, at all times, while working.

This is a Continental Days position (12 hour shifts, 7AM to 7:30 PM) 3 days one week, 4 days the next (W-TH-FR 1st week, M-TU-SAT-SUN 2nd week).

Responsibilities

  • Follow and enforce all safety rules.

  • Hold blood lead levels low by adhering to good safety practices.

  • Accountability for recordable accidents.

  • Enter work data on work order forms.

  • Provide ideas/solutions to equipment improvement and participate on miscellaneous improvement teams.

  • Positive influence on others.

  • Be able to work any shift.

  • Follow Lock Out/Tag Out procedures

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated proficiency in understanding hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical and electrical operations. Knowledge of 480v three phase, control power, MA signals, ac and dc circuits including motor starters and switch gear repairs.

  • Perform workmanlike electrical construction of conduit runs, wire pulls, terminations, and electrical component installations.

  • Perform troubleshooting, repairing, and adjustment of all plant equipment.

  • Ability to maintain PLCs, control circuits, and primary power.

  • Lift 50 pounds, Climb industrial ladders, Good physical dexterity

  • Good communication skills both verbal and written.

  • Proficient in shop mathematics and blue print reading.

  • Good working knowledge of manuals and procedures relating to all machinery.

  • Efficiently make electrical equipment repairs and alteration.

  • Have attitude and aptitude to work independently.

  • Be able to shift priorities with unexpected events.

  • Proficient with burners and burner controls.

  • Knowledge of industrial furnaces a plus.

  • All employees must be clean shaven and required to wear full face respirators and ear plugs while inside the facility. These items are furnished by the employer.

EDUCATION

  • High School diploma or GED required

  • Journeyman’s card or 2 year technical degree or 4 years of demonstrated experience in an industrial environment
