Job Description

The Lab Formulations Intern is responsible for the maintenance of all types of product formulas offered through the company’s products list.

The Lab Intern is responsible for the maintenance of all types of product testing at the company.

Laboratory Intern will perform a variety of analytical tests using wet methods of chemical analysis as well as instrumentation as appropriate. Standard, written methods of analysis will be employed and Laboratory Intern will assist in the development of new methods of analysis, new materials, discovering previously unrealized properties of existing materials when required. The Laboratory Intern will support the company Quality Control program.

QUALITY RESPONSIBILITIES: We operate under systems of Quality Management known as ISO9001 and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). Each employee in the company is required to know their responsibilities under the company Quality Management System (QMS) systems.

The Laboratory Intern has the responsibility to take any steps necessary to prevent distribution of

products or services of the company which may not conform to the quality standards of the

company. It is the Laboratory Intern’s responsibility to document any such occurrence and

immediately notify his/her supervisor.

1. Maintain documentation related to the quality section of ISO certification.

2. Perform routine maintenance and calibration checks for analytical equipment.

3. Perform analyses and synthetic reactions in accordance with internal test methods and AOCS

test methods.

4. Conduct quality assurance tests on raw materials and manufactured products, as


5. Maintain retained sample inventories of products and raw materials.

6. Assist R&D personnel and Formulations/Applications personnel with the execution of

various experimental projects.

7. Maintain lab notebooks, tabulate and organize data and keep records, and utilize internal databases.

8. Maintain inventory and safe storage of laboratory chemicals and supplies.

9. Follow lab safety procedures and general housekeeping to ensure regulatory compliance and

good laboratory practices (GLP).

10. Develop basic skills required for assisting with all aspects of the laboratory.

11. Maintain safe work environment in accordance with organization’s safety plan.

12. Maintain a hygienic work environment in accordance with organization’s personal hygiene


13. Maintain visitor requirements in accordance with organization’s Visitor Safety and Security


14. Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.


Some college level coursework in Chemistry, Biology, and other Scientific disciplines is preferred.  General lab testing and safety knowledge will be needed for this role.  High School or GED is required.
