Job Description

Apex Life Sciences is looking for qualified individuals for a Laboratory Technician position for a leading industrial chemical company.

Summary of Laboratory Technician

Actively participates in the facility EH&S programs

Helps maintain GFSI Global Food Safety Certification (SQF)

Write and follows standard operating procedures (SOP’s)

Conducts analyses on Raw Materials, in-process and finished products in an efficient and timely manner

Records and organizes all QC laboratory analytical data in specific documentation formats in order to comply with FDA regulations for cGMP/cGLP

Verifies data generated by other Analysts and provides second signature in laboratory notebooks

Reports results of analytical testing to production in a timely and organized manner

Flags Quality trends to the attention of the Quality Manger and QC Supervisor

Performs minor repairs and preventive maintenance to analytical equipment

Participates in internal and external audits

Assist in investigating and developing responses to customer inquiries/complaints

Perform calibrations and develop reports of analytical equipment

Minimum Position Qualifications/Requirements

Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in chemistry, physical science or related field. Experience may be substituted

Demonstrate team and leadership skills, a desire to participate in a new business endeavor that is highly competitive, visible, and that requires high quality standards

Must have experience with analytical methods

Attention to detail, adaptability, being a self-starter, and good communication skills are essential

Must be able to work night shift approximately from 11pm till 7am. Occasional weekend work is also required

Employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.  Employee is occasionally required to climb stairs/ladders (including vertical)

Employee must be able lift up to 55 pounds
