Apex Life Sciences is looking for a Laboratory Technician for our large material science client in the Maplewood, MN area.

Scope of Position  Lab Test Technician Position for the Respiratory Protection Lab within the Personal Safety Division
Responsibilities and Requirements
  • Comfortable working in a laboratory environment, with a reasonable understanding of chemistry and chemical reactions
  • Good mechanical aptitude for assembly of prototypes and setting up test equipment
  • Chemical testing, assembling of prototypes, working with and calibrating laboratory instruments, and documenting laboratory experiments.
  • Responsible for maintaining product for testing.
  • Responsible for understanding test methods, setting up test configurations, coordinate fabrication of fixtures, and debug of test setups as needed

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelors Degree
  • Experience in product testing in any capacity of product development, quality, or manufacturing

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Undergraduate experience in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering.
  • Good record keeping and organizational skills.
  • Strong computer aptitude, familiar with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Demonstrate aptitude with electrical and mechanical fabrication or testing experience.
  • Position will require full-time availability during regular business hours throughout the year.






































Minimal work direction needed, highly skilled and knowledgeable to the position and provides best practicing sharing within work group. Worker performs chemical, biological, physical, and/or mechanical analyses and tests required for research, development, or quality control of processes and products. Assists with compiling, analyzing, interpreting, and documenting results. Ability to follow procedures and methods and to work well on a self-directed team is required. Good mechanical aptitude and skills as well as experience and specific training in inspection procedures and/or the product line are required. Experience in a lab or technical environment is preferred. Must be computer literate with good communication and time management skills.
