Apex Life Sciences is searching for a Technician to assist one of its largest material sciences companies in the Maplewood, MN area. Apply Now!!   Scope of Postion: Technician/Technologist needed to lead or support the development of new products in Energy Markets. Duties will include supporting extrusion pilot line trials including operation, start up, shut down, clean up, assembly, disassembly and other aspects of extrusion related product development.

Primary Responsibilities:
• Operates extruders in the companies Pilot Line facilities
• Supports extrusion projects and takes direction from 3M technical employees
• Supports start up and shut down of extruders and dies including assembly and disassembly
• High mechanical aptitude
• Basic computer skills
• Able to follow detailed directions.
• Able to work with and without direct supervision.
• Works in a safe manner and complies with safety procedures.
• Must be able to lift 25 lbs regularly.


Basic Qualifications:
• Associate degree in Mechanical discipline from an accredited school

Preferred Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
• 1-5 years of product development experience
• Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
• Excellent communications skills
• Self-starter, self-motivated, positive work style























Works with moderate work direction, and can identify issues/problems but may need assistance in resolving. Worker performs chemical, biological, physical, and/or mechanical analyses and tests required for research, development, or quality control of processes and products. Assists with compiling, analyzing, interpreting, and documenting results. Ability to follow procedures and methods and to work well on a self-directed team is required. Good mechanical aptitude and skills as well as experience and specific training in inspection procedures and/or the product line are required. Experience in a lab or technical environment is preferred. Must be computer literate with good communication and time management skills.
