Apex Life Sciences is seeking a Contract Lab Test Technician Position for the Respiratory Protection Lab within the Personal Safety Division with our multinational client operating in the fields of industry, health care, and consumer goods in the Maplewood, MN area!

This position is a support role requiring more work direction whereby worker follows generally defined procedures. Good mechanical aptitude and skills as well as experience and specific training in inspection procedures and/or the product line are required.

Experience in a lab or technical environment is preferred. Must be computer literate with good communication and time management skills.

Additional Job Description

Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Conduct tests under direction of engineers; participate in analysis of results.
  • Assists with compiling, analyzing, interpreting, and documenting results.
  • Performs chemical, physical, and/or mechanical analyses and tests required for research, development, or quality control of processes and products.
  • Schedule testing and maintain records of tests in a lab notebook.
  • Participate in test method development.
  • Maintain lab, equipment and area cleanliness and safe operation; troubleshooting equipment.
  • Initiate metal shop work orders.
  • Ability to follow procedures and methods and to work well on a self-directed team is required.
  • Ability to lift pails and move drums.
  • Ability to perform repetitive physical testing.
  • Complete independent projects as needed.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School diploma/GED or higher from an accredited institution

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Microsoft Excel proficient
  • Experience working on a cross-functional team
