Apex Life Sciences is seeking qualified candidates for a Lab Data Reviewer in Wilson, NC!

Position: Lab Data Reviewer

Position Description:  Responsible for day to day work loads.  The position will require a highly motivated individual capable of working as a team player.  The position will ensure release of testing data in a timely manner and additional work within the Smoke lab performing standard testing processes and analysis.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Perform routine tests on a variety of equipment, pulling of data, reviewing data and recording results.
  • Log and approve samples in the database
  • Review analytical data for completeness and communicate discrepancies 
  • Preparation and assembly of data packets including standards review
  • Approval and release of final test results
  • Trouble shoots existing methods to find areas of performance improvements and cost reductions.
  • Provide insight into technical problems, resource shortages and schedule shortfalls and communicate these effectively to Smoke Lab Supervisor.
  • Provide leadership in all areas of routine testing.  Direct technicians.
  • Must have potential to advance into a supervisory role.  Good communication, team management and cross functional skills are required.
  • Basic understanding and knowledge of techniques, instrumentation and lab functions to identify problems and support completion of work assignments.

  • Conduct tests, collect and analyze data according to established protocols.
  • Prepare lab reports for approval by management.
  • Oversees maintenance of instruments.  Work with vendors as needed.
  • Monitor processes and services levels to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Writes SOPs and procedures as needed.
  • Reviews documents, records and forms for QMS compliance
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and technical skills.
  • Must be able to make sound decisions and evaluate processes.
  • BA/BS Science degree.
  • Must be organized and team-oriented.
  • Ability to understand complex laboratory equipment, analyze results and trouble-shoot both instruments and methods.
  • ISO/IEC 17025 and cGMP experience is desired
  • Demonstrated interest in and a strong desire to learn and to become proficient in CPA techniques.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft office
  • Demonstrated capabilities with problem solving skills
