Job Description

Jr. Flavorist

Primary Job Functions

•             Accurately compound flavors following formula instructions as requested by Flavor, Beverage, Food labs with guidance and prioritization from the supervising lab technician.

•             Assist supervisor or other lab technician as needed on specific projects. May involve flavor compounding, raw material evaluation and procurement as well as flavor profile evaluation.

•             Assist in the general up-keep, maintenance and stocking of the extract Laboratory, e.g., lab cleanliness, raw material and flavor sample archival and inventory management.

•             Assign and record necessary flavor information and maintain Flavor Laboratory archives in an organized and accessible manner on computer system, bound lab notebooks. Assist in the transfer of flavor information and technology to Production/Operations/Quality by providing necessary flavor standards to QC.

•             Obtain and stock necessary lab supplies, raw materials, application targets, market products as needed. May involve ordering of raw materials through vendors and / or off-site purchasing at grocers, etc.

•             Support company EHS procedures, health and safety guidelines. Attend any required training courses as necessary such as DOT/IATA packing, labeling, shipping course.

•             Support business development manager by preparing Power point presentation for sales meetings.

•             Support business development manager by forwarding ingredient’s technical information

•             Support the business manager by maintaining the R&D data base (CPM) up to data.

Education (minimum requirements/equivalent): Bachelor in Chemistry or Food Science
