Job Description

Apex Life Sciences is searching for a qualified Human Resources Coordinator to work at an exciting pharma company in the greater LA area!


  • Candidate interview scheduling
  • Candidate interview expense reimbursement processing
  • Draft and send offer letters
  • Submit and process candidate background checks
  • Prepare and house job descriptions
  • Coordinate weekly new hire on-boarding
  • Schedule and coordinate new hire orientation
  • Collect and validate I-9 documentation from new hires
  • New hire set ups (supplies, business cards, name plate)
  • Plan and execute on employee engagement events (new hire mixers, holidays parties, wellness events, etc)
  • Process and manage temps requests, interact with temp agencies
  • Receive and distribute paychecks
  • Process personnel action forms (PANs)
  • Answers general HR employee questions
  • Employee Recognition program
  • Prepare various reports (open req report, headcount, etc)
  • Support summer intern program
  • Support off-boarding process for staff and temps
  • Some travel is required (10%)


  • Ability to manage a high volume of work and meet deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and teaming skills with a demonstrated track record to reach effective outcomes.
  • Strong attention to detail, follow-through, process orientation, resourcefulness and ability to prioritize.
  • Impeccable judgement and a high level of professionalism when dealing with confidential and sensitive issues.
  • High bar personal ethics with a “patients first” value system.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Organizational Leadership, Business, Management, Industrial Relations, Psychology or related filed (MBA is preferred)
  • 2 years of Human Resources experience, preferably in a high-growth, fast-paced environment. 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Experience with ADP is preferred but not required.
  • PHR certification is a plus
