Front-line Engineer!

Apex Life Sciences has an immediate opening for a frontline engineering role in the La Jolla, CA area. This is an exciting opportunity with a large Fortune 100 client. The Frontline Engineer is the company's first line of defense with troubleshooting and repairing laboratory instrumentation - MUST have strong experience with hands-on equipment maintenance!

Frontline Engineer:

  • Managing spare parts.
  • First Line Service support of small equipment.
  • Managing stockpiled and maintain equipment.
  • Technical support to projects / service high-end appliances.
  • Coordination / administrative follow when moving equipment.
  • Calibrating LAF cabinets, centrifuges ...
  • Performing validations.
  • Transfer of knowledge to end users in function of optimal use of laboratory equipment.
  • Repair of vacuum pumps, etc

Profile

  • Minimum Secondary Education A2 electronics and electro-mechanics.
  • Detailed technical knowledge is a plus.
  • In possession of BA4 document is a plus.
  • Knowledge of MS Office.
  • Knowledge of English and this is written and spoken.
  • Good planner / organizer.
  • Customer friendly.
  • Precise, accurate and able to work independently with attention to detail and safety.
  • Good communication skills both oral and written.
  • Flexible and stress resistant.
  • Willing to work in P3 laboratory.

Job-related Competencies

First line support service small equipment A, B (A: lab equipment without calibration and / or certification, B: lab equipment with calibration and / or certification)

  • Identify, troubleshoot and no solution monitoring and guidance during deployment external subcontractor
  • Restoring the system by replacing electrical, electronic, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic components and / or restore
  • Record the follow-up data on interventions and pass the information on to the relevant department
  • Determine the needs for spare parts and consumables based on inventories and orders
  • Take automated equipment received and the cost and time estimate for repair
  • Automatons, receptors, control circuits, to install the equipment
