POSITION SUMMARY: 
Responsible for the safe and reliable operation of three Boilers which provides steam to various systems throughout the manufacturing plant. Monitors the operation of all equipment in the boiler room and equipment within close proximity. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES may include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 
This position is responsible for the operation and monitoring of three (3) 70 horse power high pressure steam boilers which supply steam for the processing facility. Monitor the operation of the water heater, water cooled chillers, compressed air system, pH treatment tank, process water system, and -70C freezer boxes. This position must be able to cover the boiler room on an as needed basis. 

Secondary Duties and Responsibilities: 
Receive the carts with media jars which are used in the Sterility Lab and empty the media in the specified sink located in the boiler room. Return the carts with the empty jars to the Lab personnel. 

RESPONSIBILITIES: 
• Follow all guidelines for logbooks compliance to boiler regulations N.J.A.C 12:90 
• Responsible for contacting the boiler service contractor during boiler operation emergencies. 
• Routinely monitor machines or equipment to detect malfunctions and discusses machine operation variations with supervisors and/or maintenance personnel. 
• Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery. 
• Repair and/or replace gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and other small parts as needed. 
• Will develop a good working knowledge of the Water System and related equipment. 
• Troubleshoot and repair all boiler room support systems. 
• Perform process water system daily checklist and document readings as per procedure. 
• Perform daily water tests and maintain all log books. 
• Perform routine inspections of all water and steam piping. 
• Monitor building domestic hot water systems. 
• Must be flexible to work all shifts, Holidays, and weekends as needed, and will be required to fill in for 
Operators due to vacation, illness, etc. 
• Comply with all company’s safety rules and guidelines. 
• Wear company issue uniform while on duty. 
• Wear adequate Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) as per company guidelines. 
• Complete work orders as assigned. 
• Perform other job related duties as assigned. 

Minimum Educ and Exp: • High school or trade school diploma. 
• A minimum of one year mechanical experience. 
• Three years plant operation experience. 
• Must possess a current New Jersey High Pressure Black Seal license. 
Preferred Educ and Exp: • Five years boiler operator and plant operations experience
