Job Description

Growing Pharmaceutical company is looking for an energetic person to step in as Environmental Health and Safety Coordinator.  We need a patron of safety to continue our culture of safe practices and train employees to follow our safe corporate culture.

The EH&S Coordinator plays an essential role in the implementation and sustainability of all safety programs, and provides technical expertise in the areas of OSHA, and state health and safety compliance, company standards, hazardous waste management and accident investigations.

  • Creates and enforces a culture of safety
  • Implements programs and assessments to ensure compliance with federal and internal health and safety rules
  • Conducts audits and research to identify and eliminate sources of environmental hazards
  • Assists in implementing and sustaining all EH&S programs.
  • Reviews controlled documents relating to EH&S programs.
  • Conducts and documents accident investigations.
  • Conducts safety training or coordinates with qualified or competent safety trainer to conduct safety training on various safety topics.
  • Conducts monthly basic safety training with new employees.
  • Coordinates pest control program, maintain pest documents and coordinate with pest contractor for regular pest control and additional visits if needed.
  • Conducts audits on first aid and eye rinse stations.
  • Monitors first aid stations and keeps them stocked.
  • Conducts regular audits on safety programs and makes recommendations for improvement.
  • Observes employees on-the-job to ensure safety compliance.
  • Issues warning or recommendation for termination to employees not following safety policies, programs or procedures.
  • Conducts forklift training annual re-training. Conducts forklift corrective action training if there is a forklift incident.
  • Conducts Emergency Drills at least annually or more frequently.
  • Coordinates with 3rd parties for safety related materials and services.
  • Researches cleaning and sanitizing solutions from a safety perspective and provides recommendations for improvement.
  • Heads the safety committee.


  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred, or equivalent work experience required.
  • Minimum of 3 years progressive Environmental Health & Safety experience
  • First aid/CPR training preferred.
  • OSHA experience required
  • OSHA certification preferred.
  • Forklift Trainer Certification desirable
