Apex Life Sciences is seeking an experienced Drafter to work on assignment at a reputable medical device company in the greater LA area!

Responsibilities:

  • Design plans, lay outs draws and revises detailed part, assembly and installation engineering drawing using computer-aided design and drafting software.
  • Utilized computer aided design equipment and/or graphic tools such as CAM CAM, CATIA, ProEngineer or Solidworx.
  • Work from rough sketches and specifications created by engineers
  • Help design products with engineering and manufacturing techniques and establish references and standard data in a field of specialization.
  • Add details to plans from their knowledge and techniques
  • Prepare multiple versions of designs for review by engineers
  • Specify dimensions, materials, and procedures for new products , hidden line interpolations and sectioning.
  • Prepares specifications for parts, assemblies and installations and complete production detail drawings.
  • Work under the supervision of engineers
  • Using CADD systems or any other software, drafters create and store technical drawings electronically. These drawings contain information on how to build a product, structure or machine, the dimensions of the project, and what materials are needed to produce the project.
  • Provide technical supports in areas such as operations, testing, process improvement and product development.
  • Gathers, maintains, formats, compiles, and manipulates technical data using established formulae and procedures, and perform detailed mathematical calculations.
  • Contributes in design modifications to improve quality of product or facilitate manufacturing operations.
  • Expected to independently propose solutions to problems for supervisor review. Technical problem faced are general and may require some analysis to understand and resolve.

Qualifications:

  • Prefer applicants who have completed post secondary education in drafting, typically a 2- year associate’s degree from a technical institute or community college, with preference in Mechanical drafting.
  • Requires minimum of 4 years of relevant experience; may require vocational or technical education or certification in addition to prior work experience.
